Through intense training in Fine Arts, I have mastered the use of sfumato (layering multiple thin layers of strokes to create realism) as a digital painting style. I first experimented with this style learning about Leonardo da Vinci and his portrait of Mona Lisa. It inspired me to create a portrait with acrylic paint at first, then once transitioning into the 21st century and digital media I have been able to use sfumato for my new “Queens Across the Board” collection. The first illustration completed is Miley Cyrus in Miss Sohee’s Peony gown, which honestly is a moment in itself. She wore this during a performance at the Graham Norton Show in October 2020. Below we have the completed illustration beside the original photograph — as well as a motion graphic showcasing the process in which it was completed. Keep an eye out for Bimini Bon-Boulash as they are the next Queen to be released.
